Foundation

Mission - The mission of Greenwood Community Improvement Foundation(GCIF) is to support programs or projects that benefit the residents of Greenwood County.

The Foundation was incorporated in 1991 by the Office of the Secretary of State.

The Foundation has supported the following organizations:

  • Connect Lake Greenwood
  • Bee City USA
  • 110% Givers Scholarship Program for Lander and Piedmont Technical College students
  • Summer Circle – summer camp for girls

GCIF is currently the backbone agency for Greenwood Together.  Greenwood Together is an economic development initiative with the collaborative efforts of the City of Greenwood, Greenwood County, Uptown Greenwood, and Discover Greenwood.  The goal is to identify strategic initiatives under Place(quality of life), Business, and Workforce.

Members of the Greenwood Chamber also donate 10% above their membership dues to support workforce development initiatives.
