South Carolina Festival of Flowers (June)
Visitors travel for miles to experience the South Carolina Festival of Flowers, one of the Southeast Tourism’s “Top 20” events. Each year in June, the Greenwood area hosts several weeks of festivities including private garden tours, a juried arts and crafts show, tennis and golf tournaments, an antique car show, flower and horticultural shows, concerts, dances and more. Over 15,000 varieties of flowers are on public display at The Park Seed Company’s trial gardens. Come celebrate the beauty of Greenwood area!

Ninety Six National Historic Site Festivals
Lifeways of The Cherokee Indians And Colonial Settlers (April)Each year in April, hundreds of visitors and residents take part in a celebration of living history . This unique program features an authentic encampment of interpreters who portray soldiers and women of the middle 1700’s and demonstrate such activities as 18th century medicine and surgery, writing techniques, trading with Indians, court martial, dill and firing, campfire cooking and more. Get ready to step back in time before the days of the American Revolution. Free of charge.
Revolutionary War Days (April)
See history come to life as we celebrate the siege of Ninety Six. Participants in period attire depict military and camp life activities of 200 years ago. Come observe 18th century skills like bayonet demonstrations and tomahawk throwing. You’ll rediscover the spirit of the American Revolution! Free of charge. Annual Autumn Candlelight Tour (October)
This is one of the most popular annual programs. On a selected evening, guided tours are given along the mile long historic trail which is illuminated by candle and torch light. Along the way, costumed volunteers portraying residents and soldiers tell of the times peace and war. The haunting sounds of musket fire and drums in the darkness will help you relive the Ninety Six of long ago. It’s an unusual program that you’ll want to see.

“Feastival” (May)
If you love delicious fried catfish or catfish stew you shouldn’t miss the annual Catfish “Feastival” in Ware Shoals. This fun filled day in May includes an arts and crafts fair, a rodeo, a pet show, a beauty pageant, a fun run, a street dance and more! There’s something for everyone!

Each year Piedmont TechnicalCollege hosts an exciting day of festivities for the whole family. This Independence Day celebration attracts more than 20,000 residents and visitors with free activities including country and beach music, a dog show, games for the kids, carnival rides and the area’s most spectacular fireworks extravaganza. South Carolina Festival of Discovery (July)
Experience a fun-filled weekend in Uptown Greenwood! Come enjoy the Cultural Discovery Zone, sponsored by The Self Family Foundation. You’ll see demonstrations in traditional folk arts & crafts including basket making, quilting, stained glass and wood carving as well as an arts & crafts show. There’s a woodworking exhibit by The Council of the Lakeland’s Area Woodworkers (CLAW) at the Arts Council Gallery. And, you’ll enjoy a variety of music and dancing including “Tex-Mex”, bluegrass, beach music and blues at venues all around the Square. For the kids, there’s amusement rides, games and the Kids Discovery Zone. And, the family can enjoy storytelling at the Greenwood County Library and The Museum. Don’t miss the “Taster’s Choice” sampling at the Carolina Hash and Southern Barbecue Cook-Off. “Hash Masters” compete in the “Professional” and “Backyard” categories and prizes are awarded to the team with the most votes for best hash and barbecue dishes. The Blues “Cruise” features talented blues musicians all weekend long. There’s outdoor concerts, as well as performances at local restaurant and clubs.

Greenwood is one of the many South Carolina towns featured on the Discovery Route of the South Carolina National Heritage Corridor. The route, which begins in Charleston and continues upstate to Pendleton and Walhalla, features a progressive exploration through the northern and western part of South Carolina. Located about 10 minutes from Uptown Greenwood, Emerald Farms is home to 75 acres of beautiful rolling pastures dotted with large sheltering oaks and forest land. Open to visitors, the Emerald Farm is a wonderful experience for the entire family. The farm’s owners Paul and Kathryn Zahn, give visitors a hands-on educational tour through the goat farm, herb garden and hand-made soap factory where all natural Saanen goat milk soap andbody products are made. The Greenwood Civic Center
The Greenwood Civic Center has a seating capacity of 4,800 and accommodates a wide variety of activities including fairs, concerts, circuses, graduations, banquets, dances, meetings and other special community events.
