For over twenty years Leadership Greenwood has focused on developing future leaders through a year-long series of monthly full day sessions addressing a variety of issues, opportunities, and challenges facing Greenwood County. These sessions are followed by a fundraising service project selected by the graduating class. The program year begins with an overnight two-day retreat in September and concludes with an ending overnight retreat in May.
The mission of Leadership Greenwood is to emphasize diversity and encourage thinking, acting and reacting differently to community challenges. The program’s primary goal is to increase the awareness, knowledge, and understanding of concerned individuals in order for them to become active leaders in Greenwood. This program strives to connect individuals who have a desire to learn more about their community and who are motivated to explore solutions to community issues.
