Monitors local, state, and federal legislative issues and public policy important to the business community. Works with Chamber members, government officials, and the public to influence a pro-business agenda and to communicate the results to the Chamber’s membership. Assists in coordinating meetings with local officials, S.C. Chamber, “Hill Talk” events, and the “State of the City / County” events.
Responsible for the recruitment, retention, and orientation of Chamber members, including the development of member services and benefits, member campaigns, member reception sessions, Ambassador development, and annual member surveys.
The Chairman’s Circle is an invitation- only committee whose primary function is retention. Committee members contact member investors to thank them for their investment and encourage them to become more involved with the Chamber. They assist in the improvement of the membership’s awareness of the Chamber’s mission, vision, goals, etc. and to represent these accurately to the business community.
Volunteers work with staff to ensure a quality workforce for Greenwood County businesses by supporting workforce programs and outreach initiatives, including those of the Upper Savannah Regional Education Center, Piedmont Technical College and Lander University.
