    • Share:

At the Greenwood Chamber's July Board of Directors meeting, the Board voted to endorse and support Greenwood County Council's decision to place a referendum question on the November 8 ballot asking voters to consider a special penny sales tax that would pay for more than $80 million worth of capital improvement projects throughout Greenwood County.  The initiative was discussed in detail at the Chamber's recent State of the City and County Address and was also supported by Greenwood County Council Chairman Steve Brown and City of Greenwood Mayor Wellborn Adams.

The initiative features 27 critical needs projects that will keep our county moving forward and remain competitive. A "yes" vote will help fund the projects in the following categories:

    • Public Safety
    • Economic Development
    • Infrastructure
    • Quality of Life
    • Parks and Recreation
The Chamber is leading the effort to encourage voters to support the referendum. The Chamber believes that a "Yes" vote will enhance our community's prosperity, continued growth, and deliver a better quality of life for everyone in our county. For more information visit YesForGreenwood.com
