  • The Greenwood Chamber of Commerce strives to develop leaders in the community. In that spirit, the Chamber recognizes community leaders through a variety of awards:

    Greenwood County Hall of Fame

    This award recognizes individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the economic well-being and quality of life of Greenwood County while leading exemplary lives both socially and spiritually. Nominations are accepted in November and the recipient is announced at the Chamber's Annual Meeting in January. 

    Small Business Person of the Year

    This award recognizes an individual who has contributed their time, talent, and leadership to make Greenwood County a better place to live and conduct business. Nominations are accepted in the Spring and the recipient is announced at the Small Business Awards Luncheon in May/June.

    Duke Energy Citizenship & Service Award

    This award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated a commitment to service and/or civic participation over a sustained period of time and has participated in activities that set a standard and fostered a culture for citizenship, service, and community responsibility.

    Greenwood Under 40 Stars

    This award recognizes individuals under the age of 40 who are rising leaders in the community and who strive towards the highest levels of personal and professional accomplishment. It is sponsored by Connect YP, Greenwood's young professionals. Nominations are accepted in August and recipients are announced at the awards luncheon in November.     Women of Excellence Awards

    These awards are sponsored by our Women's Leadership Council to recognize and promote the contributions of outstanding women in Greenwood County. Nominations are accepted in November and recipients are announced in January at the Women of Excellence Awards Luncheon.

    The Catalyst Award – This award honors a woman who regularly makes things happen beyond the scope of her regular job or position within the community, takes initiative, and demonstrates her energy, enthusiasm, and passion for a particular project or event or cause.

    The Sustainer Award – This award honors a woman who may be known as the “unsung hero,” an individual who is a steady and reliable force who ensures an initiative is continually successful.

    The Trailblazer Award – This award honors a woman who may be the first in her field to be a significant achiever who has “opened doors” for other women and served as a role model for others to follow.
